Howland launched his career on Madison Avenue. In 1979 he co-founded Juran Institute, Inc. with quality pioneer Dr. Joseph M. Juran, and helped build the Juran brand into one of the most prestigious and influential quality management firms in the world. 

 

Howland has published many professional papers, authored numerous books, and has traveled extensively as a featured speaker all around the world.

 

As a co-principal of King-Casey, Howland works with a portfolio of clients in the foodservice and restaurant categories, both in the USA and abroad. 

 

He is a key proponent of King-Casey's Menu Optimization Trilogy - a proprietary strategic discipline for improving menu performance. He has been King-Casey’s lead partner on projects for McDonald's, Starbucks, Subway, Bojangles, Jamba Juice and many others.
