The Situation

Culver's wanted to maximize the sales effectiveness of their interior and drive-thru menuboards, and standardize on one effective design. The previous non-standardization made revisions and updates costly, and undermined the company’s ability to speed-up customer service, and highlight profitable products.

The Solution

King-Casey conducted an in-depth COZI ® evaluation development program. In order to differentiate Culver’s from the competition, King-Casey created the “variety basket” (bundling) concept where customers were encouraged to "Make Their Own" complete meals by offering them a wide selection of items to choose from. King-Casey revamped menu designs to communicate this new strategy, while better positioning the Culver’s brand. New standardized pre-sell and menuboards were developed to increase thru-put, enhance variety, make ordering easier, and to create a higher-end personality for Culver’s.

The Results

The new menuboard and merchandising system has substantially increased sales and average check at Culver's, through greater incidence of complete meals, premium side items and beverages. Variety basket sales have jumped and salad sales have increased three-fold due to the positioning and focus they receive in the new menuboard format. Across the board, customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
